I really didn’t find that good of deals really, so I only went on Thursday. I went to Rite Aid to look at a camera that was on sale. My husband went to Black Friday sales but only went to Sears to get his uncle a gift. So, we are hoping that there will be better sales online on Monday and in the next few weeks. I really wasn’t that impressed by the sales this year.
So, we only put the gift for my husband’s uncle on a credit card and that had a zero balance. So, we will pay that off when we get the bill. We will have plenty of extra in December when he gets his $400 year-end bonus. We only have to buy a few more things for two of the kids, a gift for my mom and a frame for mother-in-law and we are done! This will mean that we won’t have any extra debt for Christmas this year. YEAH!!!
So, are you doing an all-cash Christmas? I really think it’s the way to go in this economy. If you find it hard to go all-cash, maybe look into layaway. Kmart, Sears and now Burlington Coat Factory all have them. I use to go in October and put things on layaway for my son. Then I would pay on it weekly. It was convenient and I didn’t have to go into more debt. Let me know how your holiday shopping is going.

Well, it’s that time of the year again. The day of the year that employers at the mall dread - BLACK FRIDAY!!! A lot customers LOVE getting up at the wee hours of the morning and standing in line for hours to get the best deals for Christmas. I remember last year people camping out outside certain stores last year. That’s crazy!!! KB Toys will be open and having a sale on Black Friday from 12 am to 5 am. I think there will be a lot of good sales this year because retailers are hurting right now.
You won’t catch me out there today. I’m not a fan of crowds, even the ones at Wally World on the weekends bother me. So, I will be staying home, though I may find some good deals online today. Many retailers also have online sales that are almost as good as the sales in the store today.
If you find any good online deals today, please let us know in the comments.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!!!
So, today is Thanksgiving and we are off to my mom’s house for T-Day dinner. On Saturday we will be going to my mother-in-law’s house for T-day dinner (she works during the week and Saturday is easier for her). So we will be having a lot of turkey this week. This actually works better, because we use to have dinner twice on Thanksgiving when his uncle hosted it. We would go to his uncle’s around 1 and then to my mom’s (about 20 minute drive) around 4. By the time we got to my mom’s house we were all turkeyed out! LOL.

We will probably end up going to Kmart after eating today. We have gotten some awesome deals there on Thanksgiving! We bought an artificial tree a few years back for half price (originally $120 and we bought for $60). It’s a really nice tree and everyone thinks it is real! We have also bought ornaments and tree skirts for 1/2 price or Buy One Get One Free. So, they have some pretty good deals.
Ok. We’re off to eat at mom’s house. Time to eat lots of turkey and watch some football (or take a nap. lol)

Do you love to blog? Why not get paid for it then? I have 2 major blogs and one of them is this one. The other is a general blog where I write about everything going on in my life as a stay-at-home mom. I do not get paid for that one because it is on Blogger, but I do get paid for the blog you are reading right now. I was writing a blog about frugality on Blogger, and then I found Today.com. I started writing one here and as time has gone by, have found that I cannot keep up with two blogs about frugality. So I had to stop blogging on the other one. But I really enjoy blogging about frugality and helping others learn about how they can live their lives more frugally.
With Today.com, you get $1 a post and you get $5 per referral. You can only get paid for one post per day so that is a minumum of $30-$31 a month if you post daily with at least 100 words. $30 isn’t much you say? Well it is in my family. $30 can help me add more to my stockpile. $30 helps pay for the three 2-liters of diet Pepsi I drink a week and helps when I want to buy lunch up at the college. What it really does is give me a feeling like I’m contributing money to the family budget, no mattter how small of an amount it may be.
There is opportunity to make more than the $30 a month. If you get a referral and they post at least 10 times in 90 days, that is $5. After a while, you can apply to get a second blog, and that would bring you up to a possible $60 a months. Plus you get a small amount for the traffic that looks at your blog. If your blog article is picked up by a major site, you may also qualify for up to a $100 bonus.
So, if you’d like to sign up to blog for Today.com, you can click on the link at the top of my sidebar. If you have any questions, please let me know. If you need any help customizing your blog, let me know and I will be more than willing to help you out.
