Trying to Make the Money Last!
Money is a little tight this week. My hubby got paid last Thursday and then we had to pay the rent on the first of the month. We ended up with $95 left to get us through the week, and $60 for gas. Thank goodness gas has went done or otherwise we would have had even less money. We are trying to save every little penny we can find because of all the money going out for this modular we are putting on our land. We bought formula for the little one (he only drinks it twice and day and we’re trying to get him down to once), 2 gallons of milk, and 3 boxes of Aldi’s oatmeal for the kids. We have enough food in the pantry and freezer to last until hubby gets paid on Thursday.
Once he gets paid, money will be fine for the month and I figured on about $250 for Christmas presents, mostly for the kids. We put a limit of $100 for each kid. We aren’t buying a lot of things for our extended family and I will be making cookies and other treats as presents for a lot of people. We have bought a few things and are trying to get presents on sale and get the most of each $100. I would so LOVE to get my Little Princess a kitchen but a decent one is $100 or more and I want to get her more than one present. Little Man LOVES the new Elmo toy, but at $60 it isn’t going to happen this year. We’re getting our 10 year old an MP3 player and I’m using the Pepsi points to get him free MP3 downloads.
What are you doing for Christmas? Are you cutting down on how much you spend? Is the holiday going to be more about spending time with family and less about the presents? Let me know what you think.
