I just happened to come across this blog called Sprite’s Keeper recently. They have a weekly thing they call the Spin Cycle and I have decided I would like to participate.

This week’s question is all about the birth of our blogs. Why did I choose to name this name what I did? Well, first of all, I had really been trying to become more and more frugal and really stretch our money, since becoming a stay-at-home mom in January of 2007. I was always calling my mom up and telling her about the great deals I just got, especially if I got something for free! LOVE IT!!! Anyways, one day she called me the coupon queen of corning. I just laughed and nothing became of it then. A few months later, I was talking an HTML class at the local college and needed a name for my website I had to develop. Coupon queen of corning sounded just as good as anything else I could come up with, so I used it. That class was in the spring of this year and I started this blog on Today.com in November to help other people live more frugal lives.

I also have a more personal blog, where I write about my daily life as a stay-at-home mom. This blog is where I really express my thoughts and feelings, and let it all out. I care less about making the blog perfect, and more about making it an outlet to avoid therapy (LOL). I may mention money and other money-related things, but for the most part, I save these types of posts for the blog you are currently reading. I enjoy talking about how to save money, but I like saving it even more! Just call me a frugalista! LOL
