NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN!!

Published by couponqueenofcorning at 10:36 pm under FrugalLiving Edit This

I had no plans to go anywhere today. I usually don’t on weekends. Hubby works overnight and sleeps during the day. So, he gets home after work this morning and after stopping to visit with his uncle for about an hour, at around 9. He tells me the wipers on the van are broke (we had snow and ice yesterday) and that I need to go get new ones put on. He tells me “Go to Walmart. They’ll put them on and you can get the oil changed while you’re they’re”. Great! Everyone knows how much I LOVE going to Wally World, especially on a weekend just 2 weeks before Christmas!! GGGGgrrrrrrrr!!!!!

While the little guy was napping, I uploaded a collage/scrapbook page that I did on paint.net ( similar to Photo Shop but free) to Walmart.com and ordered an 8×10. It was less than 3 dollars and if it turned out good, I had plans for doing another one. This one was for my mother-in-law, was all black and white photos of her grandkids, and I planned  to put  it a silver frame. The little guy woke up and we headed off to the WalMart about 15 minutes from here.

The parking lot was packed!! We pulled up to the side of the building where the auto service center is, and there were only a few cars. Thank Goodness!! Walmart has increased their basic oil change! It was $30!!! Highway robbery!! The last time we had it done there it was around $20. I’m not sure what other places are charging, but we will find out. My hubby says that he will change it himself if every place else is that expensive.

So, we had to wait around for a while, so we TRIED to get some shopping done. What normally would have taken me about an hour to shop for took me almost 2!! We tried to stay away from the masses in the toy and electronic departments. Crazy busy! Bought toothbrushes for all the kids’ stockings and socks for everyone. Spent over $160!! Wooo-Weee! And that didn’t include the $48 to have oil and wipers changed. It was an expensive day!!

I was frazzled for hours afterward and I couldn’t think straight. Not good at all. I hate crowds! People are rude and you really can’t leisurely shop for presents. I think we’re just about done except for a toy or two for my oldest son and some goodies for the stockings.  On the bright side, the collage turned out great and I’m going to do another 8×10 for MIL.

My classes are done except for finals. This is going to be a tough week. So, if my posts are not up to par, you will know why. Once they are over, life will be a little less hectic around here.
