HAPPY SECOND DAY OF CHRISTMAS!!
Well it’s the day after Christmas and I’m exhausted. I got a really good amount of sleep last night, but still woke up tired. All day I felt like I could just lay down and take a nap, but we had a lot to do. We had to get our tree down and get it down today! If you’d like to read why, you can read my post from a few days ago entitled Nothing Like Having an Asthma Attack While You’re Trying to Wrap Presents.
So while hubby rewired an outlet (10 yr old fried it when vacuuming) I took down the tree. The Little Man was asleep and I knew I had maybe an hour or so to get it all done, so I hauled butt. The 10 yr old put the limbs a
nd stuff in bags and put it on the porch for the person from Freecycle to come pick up. By the way, if you don’t know what Freecycle is, it’s a wonderful group where people offer their unwanted things and most of the time, people want them. You can also post for a wanted item. I posted a few months back that I was looking for a bread machine. I figured a lot of people probably bought them, used them a few times, and then stuck them in a closet or something. I was right. I got five people who emailed me and offered me theirs. The one I got was about ten years old, but must have been top of the line then. This lady kept really good care of it and she even had the books to go with it. I love that machine!
We had some returns to do this evening, but got a late start, so we only got to Target after stopping at uncle’s house for some receipts that hubby forgot. We will have to go back out tomorrow. I am hoping to get to Kohl’s because I have a $20 gift card and some cash, and they are having some major clearance there. I am in desperate need of some pants. As so many other mothers do, I tend to not buy very much for myself. Especially because I am not working. I am all the time buying stuff for the kids (on clearance of course), but for myself I can’t see spending the money. Speaking of clearance, I did find a couple deals at Target today. I bought the Little Man size 7 Cars sneakers (too awesome looking) and bought Little Princess a pair of pink dress shoes in size 8 that I’m hoping will still fit her for Easter. We really weren’t thinking, because one of the major things we went to the store for was for bins for the Christmas decorations. We don’t dare put anything in that basement unless it’s in some sort of plastic container that can be wiped off with Clorox cleanup.
Did you know that today is the second day of Christmas? So I’m giving you 2 turtle doves.

Oh and I almost forgot your gift from yesterday. Here is your partridge in a pear tree.

So, I’m off to finish cracking open nuts. My hubby and I thought it was a great idea to put nuts in the stockings this year. I forgot just how much of a pain in the butt they can be to open, especially with a cheap nutcracker. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I know our family did.
