Preparing for our Shopping Trip - March 3
We will once again be preparing for our once a month shopping trip this week. We will be going out to eat on Thursday and then going to Aldi’s, Sam’s and possibly to Walmart. It is Tuesday and I will be inventorying my freezer, frig and pantry. Then I will be making a menu for the month and starting my shopping list from that. Then I will be adding stuff that we need to the list. So this is what I will be doing tonight and tomorrow (besides taking care of the kids and working on class work.
We decided to go to mall tonight and walk around. They were having a boat show so it was nice to show the kids (and free). The only problem with going to the mall is we tend to spend money.
We ended up going to Friendly’s to grab something to eat. The two little ones split a kids meal of grilled cheese and broccoli. The little man at 1/4 of the sandwich and like 2 fries. He gobbled down his half of the broccoli and wanted. So, I am just going to have to make more broccoli tomorrow or Thursday.
Other than eating out we did really well. I had a $10 off JC Penney so I ended up getting a sale item (this season actually lol) - short sleeve shirt for spring. It cost me $3 and some odd change after the coupon. YEAH!! Those $10 off $10 coupons are AWESOME! We also went to a sporting store and ended up getting a Mets shirt for dh and a pink Mets shirt for me for less than $5 each. At Bon Ton they had 80% off the clearance prices. I was like cool!!! lol. Unfortunately most of the baby and toddler clothes were almost gone. I mostly ended up buying shirts for our 10 year old son. Also got dh a sweater and dd a High School Musical shirt in size 4. Her shirt looks a little small so she may be able to wear it either this year or next. So we bought 4 long sleeved boys size large / xlarge shirts, 1 sweater for dh and a tshirt for my daughter for $24 and some odd change. I love getting bargains like this. I get very grumpy when I have to pay full price for something. That is why I shop through out the year for bargain.
Other bargains I’ve gotten recently (in the last month):
- pair of inline skates that attach to shoe for dd $4.98 (future bday or xmas present)
- 15 packs of Bounty Basic papertowels $7.67 each (I grabbed up 3 of those puppies)
- beautiful maroon colored Christmas dress for dd (less than $10 LOVE this dress)
- microfiber dish cloths and towels on clearance for 25 cents.
- Crest toothpaste $.54 (clearance and coupon)
- Tinker Bell calendar for dd 50 cents
- 2 pack of toothbrushes - less than 50 cents with clearance and coupon
- I’m sure there are more, I’m just too tired to remember right now. I’m falling asleep as I am typing this. That can’t be good. LOL.
Has anyone else gotten any awesome bargains recently?
